Plant a tree - Save the Planet. During this month's Field Day activities, each class will plant a tree on school grounds. Trees scrub our air of CO2, regulate temperatures, contain erosion, provide homes for birds and animals and produce fruits and nuts. Plant a tree. It's not just a seed you plant in the earth - it's an idea planted in your mind that you can help the planet.

You leave footprints when you walk in the sand and when you’ve got wet feet. You also leave something called a carbon footprint. You can’t see your carbon footprint, but it impacts the earth and leaves a mark. When you use fossil fuels, like heating oil to keep your house warm or gasoline for your family’s car, these things create carbon dioxide, also called CO2. This is making the earth too warm. Your carbon footprint is the total amount of CO2 you create. Find out what your carbon footprint is by clicking on November Activity under "Useful LInks". Print your score and drop it off at the Green Corner. Questions? Ask Mrs. Boggs or Mrs. Salzman.
