Chorus Club
The West School Chorus Club is a singing and performing group open to all 3rd and 4th grade students. In the club we work on proper singing techniques, learning several songs with some choreography, and explore singing in harmony. We also have a ton of fun!! The students rehearse for several weeks and then give a final performance for family and friends. We also have opportunities to do some outreach performances for our senior community. This experience is great opportunity to bring the younger and older generations together in a fun and positive way. Not only do the students learn about singing and performing, they also learn that they can use their talents to bring some light and joy into the lives of others. Activities will include role-playing and problem solving, illustration and writing projects, meaningful circle times to share acts of kindness students have done or observed, and fun projects to ractice empathy through small gestures. We'll also create a schoolwide "Kindness Wall" where students and staff can contribute, read books about kindess, and more! As a club, we will plan and carry out ways to spread kindness throughout West School and the larger community. This may include partnering with organizations such as animal shelters, groups supporting children experiencing homelessness, or families in need. The possibilities for kindness are endless---and we're excite to see where our club members take it! Kindness Club runs AFTER SCHOOL on Thursdays from 3:20 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., and meets in room L04.
